Dry skin or fungus?
I have a five year old green cheek conure. He’s been acting tired and he’s always huddled under his heat lamp. I took him to the vet but the avian vet want there that day. They took x-rays but said that didn’t show anything. He was dehydrated and they gave him fluids. They wanted to do blood work but I decided to just go back when the avian specialist was there.
The vet missed that he was bleeding under his beak, but it dried up.
Anyway he is still energetic and bright eyed. He eats food and drinks water. And stills fly’s and seems normal, just a little tired. I saw him scratching a lot. Then I discovered a dry yellowish patch of skin under the feathers near his eye. I’m not sure I’d just dry skin or if it’s a fungus. Maybe that’s why he seems tired. Or is it just dry skin because he’s always under the heat lamp? I have pictures but I can’t figure out how to post them. I’m on my phone. A chunk of dry skin came off and I could see the pink skin underneath...or was it a chunk of fungus stuff that came off?
