    Can parrots eat artichokes?

Has anyone given their birds artichokes? I can't seem to find anything that says they can or can not eat them.

I've not tried artichokes. I can't remember off hand if they are on the good list and I'm at work right now so can't look through my books. Have you Google them to see what comes up about them? There is a couple of articles on the forum on good and bad foods. You might search for them and see if artichokes are listed. I may look it up in a short just to see what comes up about them. You have me wondering now.

I've googled it. Some sites say it's perfectly safe and a few say it's not. Or, maybe parts of the plant are toxic. I got to wondering as I was eating an artichoke last night and Clover was watching me and saying "apple" "apple". That's his begging word.

In fact, you can make them into a foraging item by tucking things into their leaves.

Making them into foraging toys sounds like a great idea.

Just to prevent discouraging your bird, snip off the ends of the leaves so they don't hurt when they are trying to get to something
