    Homemade Recipe

Certainly! Here's a simple and nutritious recipe for homemade parrot food:

    1 cup cooked brown rice
    1/2 cup cooked quinoa
    1/2 cup cooked lentils
1/2 cup chopped fresh vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, kale, etc.)
1/4 cup unsalted nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews)
1/4 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots)
1 tablespoon flaxseeds or chia seeds
    1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
1 teaspoon ground turmeric (for its anti-inflammatory properties)
1 teaspoon nutritional yeast (for added vitamins and minerals)
Fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro) for garnish (optional)

Cook the brown rice, quinoa, and lentils according to package instructions until they are tender. Let them cool completely.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, quinoa, and lentils.
Add the chopped fresh vegetables, nuts, dried fruits, flaxseeds or chia seeds, coconut oil (if using), turmeric, and nutritional yeast to the bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator.
Serve the homemade parrot food to your feathered friend in appropriate portion sizes, depending on their size and dietary needs. You can offer it as a main meal or as a nutritious snack.

Ensure that all ingredients are bird-safe and free from any additives or preservatives that could be harmful to your parrot.
Monitor your parrot's reaction to the new food and adjust the recipe as needed based on their preferences and dietary requirements.
Always provide fresh water alongside the homemade parrot food to keep your feathered friend hydrated.
This homemade parrot food recipe provides a balanced mix of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals to support your parrot's overall health and well-being. Feel free to customize the recipe with your parrot's favorite ingredients and experiment with different combinations to keep mealtime exciting for your feathered friend!

    Welcome to the forum!

This sounds like a good recipe for the parrots. Mine get fresh chop daily along with pellets. The pellets help to cover any nutritional deficits from selective eating from the fresh chop.

How old are your parrots? Do you give them anything else along with your homemade recipe?
