    New Extended Family Member

    This is my grandniece with her new cockatiel, Maverick. He just arrived yesterday. Just wanted to share.

    Keeping birds a trend among my family members? To a point, I suppose. My mother liked and kept birds. Aside from her (and me), the other potentially dedicated bird keepers among my relatives are only my niece and her family. One of my sisters also kept birds for a while - but she no longer keeps them and I question whether she was ever truly into them much. However, with me, at least, I can accurately say that keeping birds is a lifetime passion and not a trend.
