My TAG began talking at 9 months of age and completely stopped saying any new words at2.5 years. Always wondered why.
I had read that at some point they stop growing their vocabulary, but start replacing old words with new ones. I haven't kept track of mine well enough to know if that is true![]()

Begin by teaching your African Grey Parrot simple and commonly used words. These can include greetings like "hello" and "goodbye," as well as common phrases like "how are you?" and "thank you." Repetition is key when teaching a parrot new words. Repeat the word or phrase you want your parrot to learn consistently and in a clear, distinct manner. Repetition helps reinforce the association between the word and its meaning. source: african grey parrot.
