    Blackberries ok??

Can my lovebirds have blackberries?? I brought some fresh picked ones home from my parent's house yesterday. I was thinking they might like to try them...

One would be ok. Fruit should be kept at a minimum for parrots.Since your birds are small, one should suffice. Pico however, gets as many as he wants.I cut them in halves or quarters, depending how big they are. I like them too, they are a good source of fiber.

I agree with Carole. Fruit is high in sugar and your birds are small ones. One, or one cut in half for the 2 to share is fine.

I know parrots tend to prefer fruit to veggies, but veggies are lower in sugar and more nutrient dense, so try to concentrate on veggies for the fresh foods.
