Bosley preening me

So Bosley has been preening me since he decided early on that we were friends.He loves to preen my hair and my skin.
The last few weeks though he's been preening me a lot more intensely to the point where he is leaving little scratch marks on my hands with the tip of his beak.
Is this because he's still in mating mode or will it keep being like this.

It's not really a big deal, but I do have to re direct him sometimes because it hurts a bit LOL

Hmm, not sure if this will help, but you might try to teach him "Easy" or "Gentle".

My amazon is my roughest preener as well. My 2 girls are so gentle when they preen my face, but Pete is kind of a rough and tumble guy. He also does this weird thing when he really likes something where he will smash his beak into it over and over, and has done that to my face as well!

Bosley will smash his beak into me when he is displeased, at least he doesn't bite me LOL
He also will do that to his plastic cup on his playstand if he doesn't want somebody coming close to it eg my hubby LOL

Interesting how 2 birds can do the same thing for different reasons.

When he does that head flick by putting his head over one shoulder and bringing it forward really fast, it's because he wants to play. Other people have said their zons do it as a sign of aggression though.

Bosley will go smashing head on, only flicks from the side sometimes.
He loves posing that boy!!
