October Photo Competition (Parallels)

OK folks, it is time to get the October photo competition underway.

The subject matter chosen by Mare for the October competition will be: ~~Parallels~~ A person or thing, (or bird), that is similar to another. A few synonyms would be; counterpart, likeness, twin, equivalent, match, mirror, duplicate...

The picture should contain two things next to each other that demonstrates parallelism. Example: my 'toos sitting on a wood chipper. YES! Parallels!!

Use your imagination! Your bird doesn't necessarily HAVE to be in the photo, but that would be nice, too . Good luck, everyone, I look forward to seeing your entries!

The prize will be donated by Maddy and will be a Custom Feather Painting of the winner's choice.

The rules are pretty simple:

1. Only one entry per member per competition.

2. Please include a little info and names about your choice as parallells along with the photo. It will be used
to identify your entry on the poll along with your username. Also please give a little detail as to why you chose the subjects in your photo to best describe your idea of a parallel.

3. No copy write photos. Please make sure you are the owner of
the photo you enter.

4. Please, no photos that clearly endangers anyone or animal in any way that may be in your entry photo.

5. All photos to be entered in the competition need to be posted in this thread.

6. And the most important rule of all~~Lets Have Fun!!!~~

The competition starts today, the 2nd of October and runs til the 21st of October.

The 22nd of October a poll will be added by Blanca with all of the photos in order of their posted date.

The poll will run for one week and will close on the 29th of October, unless otherwise noted.

I will announce the winner of the competition and post the winning photo on the 31st of October (Halloween).

The winner of this competition gets to choose the subject of the November photo competition.

So, let the competition and fun begin!!!!

Mare by all means please do enter the competition!! I decided early on to not limit the winners of previous months to sitting a month out. If you win again that just means that you have the best photo and everyone else needs to work even harder to 'knock' you off your photo throne! :th_biggrin:

These are so much fun I just can't see not allowing as many folks a chance to enter as we can get.

Debra, your idea for your parallel photo is very good! I like it a lot.:th_hug8:

Dianne, you are doing very well with your photo creativity! The mirror image butterfly reminds me of the Kaleidoscopes I played with as a child. I loved those things. Where did fun toys like that go? :th_sad14:

OK, I know this may be a bit of a stretch for some to phantom as a photo of parallel. I will explain why I feel this is photo of my Shih Tzu, Chow Yun is my entry.

Chow Yun was born on a truck traveling through Iowa along with his 5 siblings. We added him to our old poodle pack of 3 from a truck stop parking lot in Arkansas. He dearly loved living on a moving truck and his favorite spot was sitting in his Dad's (Jerry) lap 'learning' how to drive. He was destined to be the first truck driving small dog in the US.:th_biggrin: This photo shows just how well and safe of a driver he was. After all he had both paws on the wheel and was watching where he was going! LOL

The parrellel in my opinion is that he was born to be a trucker and learned from his 'Human Dad' all the tricks of the trucking trade. :th_hug8: It been over 8 years since we quit driving the truck. Chow Yun is now 10 1/2 yrs old and still loves to go at a moment's notice, especially to Sonic for ice cream.

These are supposed to be fun & I am having a great time adding this as my entry. :th_LOL:
