    Racing B&G Macaw

This is amazing how much trust this guy has in his parrot Vito, the Blue and Gold Macaw. Though this a marvelous thing but I still wouldn't take my birds out with a harness.

Btw at the end it may look like Vito flew away but no he came back. I saw a video of Vito a few years after this video was taken free flying and racing, this time, a boat.
    Kindest Regards,

When a bird is not highly conditioned for free flight and recall, odds tend to favor losing it. And it should also be noted that even when a bird is trained properly for free flight and recall, there will always be a higher probability that it will fly away and become lost and/or victimized at some point than there would be if a quality harness were utilized. I have to say that's an impressive video. I just hope it doesn't send the wrong message to some folks.

The birds in those kinds of videos always look so free and happy. I just couldn't take the chance...there are so many variables that could lead to a bad outcome. Too scary for me.

It truly is beautiful to see parrots flying free in their natural habitat. I also agree that I couldn't do it. It's not worth the risk and heartbreak.

I agree with you guys. I will never EVER take my babies out with a harness as I can't handle losing them. My intention is not to encourage people do it at all, but to share this wonderful sight.
