    What makes you crazy?

We all love our feathered friends and treat them like part of the family. Just like any other family member there is something that they do that drives us crazy.

What does your bird do that drives you around the bend?

My IRN Ramsay loves being on the floor so you have to watch every step. The thing that drives me crazy is when you walk past him he will jump at you and cling onto your leg. He won't let go, he just hangs there as you are walking around the house. Can be dangerous, but we are all aware to watch for him.

Sassy Goffin's girl, she IS Sassy Amigo, male umbrella cockatoo Chip! The cockatiel! The sweet, sweet Jellybean!
My 4 month old cockatiels. They still love me like I'm their mama and when I have them out of their cage they glom onto me, which isn't so bad but their nails hurt my face when they crawl up to the top of my head! Makes me CRAZY! Crazy birds!

Rosie, our Greenwing Macaw (Hatchday 4/1/12)
Rosie will start yelling if I am in the kitchen and she is on her tree in the family room. Mind you, those two rooms are an open floor plan and I am never more than 10 feet from her and always completely visible. If I am not in the family room it's a screaming complain fest!!

Casper, a blue fronted Amazon. Loves banana. Hates plastic bags and red coats.
Casper asleep on my shoulder, normally OK but sometimes he is on a pressure point that begins to hurt and gradually gets worse.
We have an agreement that if one of us is dozing the other one will sit quietly. Sometimes I just have to shift him a bit.

Thought I would add a video that I took 3 minutes ago to emphasize how ridiculous my situation is. Needless to say Rosie is now in my room enjoying some pistachios and Disney Jr.

My plumhead was very timid. She played with the quakers, but not the lovies. They gave her a run for her money. It sounds like peanut wants to play with the big boys, and he is not scared either.

I am sure it gets loud. That is wonderful that Rosie loves you so much.
I had a friend that had a macaw. He let out a scream while I was there, WOW. My ears were ringing for 2 days. I guess you get accustomed to it like everything else.

That's a good agreement. Does Casper sit quietly if you doze off, or do you get your ear and your neck nibbled and kissed?

Yes, she is very demanding of my attention. If she can see me she wants my focus to be on her or in a Rosie approved location. She is extremely loud. I have hearing loss from her letting loose when I yeled for the kids or dogs while on my shoulder...after a couple years it takes its toll. I have since learned not to yell with her on me. Lol.
