Does anyone know how a parrot got a head like a Hawk?

After you asked this question I spent some time with Google and could not come up with an answer other than I've read that parrots are more related to Falcons than hawks and eagles..
I find it difficult to believe that evolution was "smart" enough to make my bird look like a hawk but rather that at some point in the evolution of this parrot this version of the Deroptyus accipitrinus became established in its environment and any other variants succumbed to survival of the fittest. Who know's if it even resembles its ancestor.
Just my 2 cents being unencumbered with education on the subject/

Bill I too searched to find out any history on this question and came up empty. They are a fascinating species of Parrot and you are so fortunate to have her in your life.
