Bringing home my baby this weekend!!!

I'm so excited that I finally get to bring my baby CAG home this weekend!! I'd really appreciate any advice on what to get done this week to prepare for him/her and anything that I should do once he/she is home.

I do have a nice cage that just needs some finishing getting cleaned up and then disinfected. The breeder is going over her current diet with me when I pick her up.

Make sure you have an avian vet lined up. Have you gone over your home to make it bird safe? Taken out any non stick cookware, sprays, candles, toxic plants and any smokers should smoke outdoors. I'm so excited for you. I remember when I got a grey from a breeder. She was already trained and eating all the good foods at 13 weeks of age.

Have you picked a name yet?

I have a reputable avian vet lined up and will be seeing her next monday. I have started bird proofing but haven't finished yet and thankfully no smokers. Yeah, she's already on a great diet, knows step up, gives kisses, and comes to you on command. She's very curious of new things and has a big personality.

Prevention is a good prep. An avian first aid kit is great to have handy in case it is needed.

I'm excited for you as well. Can't wait to see the pics and hear all about her first week at her new forever home!
