Roxynoodle I was thinking about going to that vet. How do you like them and are they really expensive??
The one I use now cant seem to get my CAG beak right, he was just there a month ago and needs it done again!
She is so awesome I plan to stay in this area, lol! I have my moments where I want to live in a warmer climate but I will stay here as long as she is practicing She has written avian veterinary textbooks, speaks at conferences to other avian vets every 2 weeks and is considered one of the world's top avian vets. As for the prices, TBH they aren't any worse than seeing a non certified vet who sees birds. All birds are expensive to vet, unfortunately, but I've used 4 bird vets and their prices have all been about the same. Take a look on her website and you will find a 15% off coupon for your first visit, which helps.

I want to provide this link for those in the US to aid in finding a board certified avian vet in your area (or the closest as I know some people live in states where there are none):

Only a small percentage of vets in the AAV are board-certified, so I'd start my search here: https://abvp.com/animal-owners/find-an-abvp-specialist/
I have two vets, Jose Biaschoechea in Mt Pleasant SC, who is one of the newest diplomates, and Rhoda Stevenson in Jacksonville, FL, one of the first group to achieve that status, now 20 years ago. Rhoda's hospital, Exotic Bird Hospital is fabulous, and she has three full time avians-and-exotics-only vets on staff with 24/7/365 emergency vet on call, who will, if need be, open the hospital for you at any time. (Including Christmas Eve: I had a beak bleed I couldn't get stopped and called her close to 6 p.m. on Dec. 24th, and she was willing to be there if we had to go there.
