I've finally come to the decision of another bird and decided to go with a species that has intrigued me for as long as I can remember. The African Grey. I've been poking around for a while and talking to people and looking at various birds that I like. The truth of the matter is I love them all but cannot have them all. I've always liked the greys but was a little afraid to keep one. Everything that I hear about them with their phobias, biting and plucking kind of scared me off. Even though these things can be very real, I've come to the conclusion that a lot has to do with how they are or at least have been handled.
I've spoken to the breeders and really like what they are about and how they handle their birds and babies. I'll probably go have a look in about three weeks to see for myself. A baby might even pick me out . They live about two hours away so if I'm lucky I'll be able to visit a few times and bring toys. So, it looks like a grey baby will be here around the end of July or August.
