Hey everyone. Sorry I have not posted an entry in awhile.. We(I) have been very busy and writing the blog is not something I wanted to do with the nature of the busy. It was a negative week in the rescue world as far as trying to help someone goes. This someone has neglected to get help and neglected the birds in the process. Enough of that topic because I would rather not dwell on it.

My day today was a decent one with the birds. All my guys were ripping and roaring to get out! I went up to the rescues and an african grey named dinky told me to stop.. I laughed and said I guess you don't want food and water.. His response was oohh. Sometimes these guys make me laugh.

This morning I also went out to a pet store to take a photo of pickle a cherry headed conure to be put in the local news. He will be put in as pet of the week! Keep look on the facebook page to see more about that as I assume that will be the best way to communicate this!

We also received a pair of greys that the male recently had his beak bit off.. So we are dealing with him and adapting him to his disability that has been sadly pushed on him. This guy has a huge instinct to live and is adapting so well, we are proud of him!

If you didn't see on the facebook page we have a very nice java tree being donated as well! The thing is huge.. we also got a cargo net and some bird dishes donated which was great. I just wanted to give a mention as we really love it.

I like to sit back and think at the end of my day, at this point I think the positives and negatives.. One positive is always these birds I am so blessed to work with these guys and have the rescue. It is a lot of work but pays off everyday.

I was working on things a lot today so my bird stories are kind of minimal!

cya guys soon! Thank you for stopping by the blog.

kind regards,
Justin

Hey Justin... great to see another entry!

I understand about your frustration and concern for the neglected birds. That's got to be one of the most difficult parts of what you do

Dinky's second thought on the matter you've described is quite amusing . They can sure interact with us in correct and humorous ways much of the time. I find that I never know what to expect next

That's very cool about Pickle's photoshoot. I hope he dealt with it well.

I'm so sorry to hear about the beak injury on one of the Greys you've taken in... hopefully you'll be able to provide adequate accommodations for him. Please keep us posted on his progress!

As always, thanks for the update... and congrats on your java tree donation!

Justin- As I'm sure you know, few things that can dramatically improve lives in dire need are easy to accomplish. You are committed and doing a tremendous job!
