That's right Josie's mom is going to be abandoning me to go to some work thing this weekend! I have our little feathered girl all weekend! I sat down with her and explained that she must be a GOOD GIRL for daddy. I explained that she would get "birdie bread and lot's of pine nuts" if she behaved. Sadly the only thing she seemed to to get out of it was that was a good girl and acted like I was missing the obvious.... "rippy" Ripley was a bad dog. It is going to be a long weekend with s lot of yelling (her not me) and 16 hours a day of the Disney channel! I haven't felt this apprehensive since the first time I was on my own with a new baby (the demon voices she makes don't help) I should have never let her watch the exorcist!

I learned the hard way about letting the parrots watch horror movies. My TAG loves to make a horrific "I am being eaten alive" scream as you walk around the corner into the bird room and I was listening to EVPs and he latched on to this blood chilling "GET OUT" that he loves to yell at new people. :/

I couldn't allow my hubby to have the birds for the weekend. He can't put two of them back in their cages (I on the other hand have no problem). I wouldn't want them cage bound for a couple of days. Good luck on your weekend!

ROTF I love it! My twins thought it would be a hoot to teach her help! I have to admit to thinking it was funny until the police showed up. We actually had to put up a sign on the door saying " NO ONE HERE IS IN DISTRESS, WE HAVE A NEW BIRD WITH SEPARATION ANXIETY.... along with a pic.

I have no worries leaving Josie home with Ben...he is great. He likes to make fun of her but when it comes down to it, I know he loves her too. I have no doubt she will be making some obscene noises but im sure she will do some laughing as well. :-)

The only way I even got her to come out or go back in was to tell HER LETS GO SEE WHAT MOMMY'S UP TO. She got so excited she'd jump right on, getting her back in needed a little more finesse I wanked backwards while she "looked for mommy" and put her in. The only catch was the whole dead weight-limp bird thing she started. But at least it was in the cage. lol

LOL! The two I have that don't want to go back in are itty bitty Quakers. One is cage aggressive and the other just doesn't like my hubby. All I have to do to get them back in is to tell them to with a pat on the door of their cage. Drives my hubby crazy. LOL

My kids have issues getting a couple back in to there cages. We found that tossing a favorite food in yo the dish will get them flapping to get back in.

Both my birds will go in if we put food in there dish. So my kids have actually got them to go in that way! We are going away next weekend, so we will be having a babysitter at the house while we are gone! LOL!
