Oliver's Mom Joining too...

Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to join the Precisely parrots Forum and share my stories and life with Oliver with you! I never tire reading parrot stories and learning from all of you. Oliver is nearing 9 months old. He is an SI Eclectus with a fantastic personality. I purchased him when he had one lonely green feather that blossomed into a full load of green, red, blue, and yellow feathers and other colors I can643't identify! He is going through a little "growling" phase that just started yesterday. It seems this happens only when he is on his play stand or in his cage. Before I saw a bit of this around his food but now it's becoming more. I'm thinking it might have something to do with our 24 year old son who came home from law school for the summer. He plays with Oliver and perhaps brought the brat out in him. Who knows! Anyway, I'm excited to be here and look forward to hearing from all of you.

Codie reacted exactly the same when my Son came back from Australia after being there for a year. I think its jealousy in seeing your attention on someone else.

Greetings Dr. Lisa... Thanks for joining our expanding community :D. Concerning Oliver, Wendy may be correct. Many parrots are prone to jealousy in varying degrees. It can manifest in a few different ways, depending upon the bird. Parrots are more often than not quite expressive about their moods and opinions ;)

By the way, Oliver is indeed a handsome ekkie!

Welcomecto the forum Lisa & Oliver. He is adorable, I love the iridescent green of the male ekkies. I have a female SI ekkie. I had a choice of either one when they were old enough to tell the sex. I chose my girl & I just love her confident attitude.
