Just wondering if this is possibly because he is hormonal or if i should be worried.
Most of this week Danny has not wanted me to hold him. He just wants to be on or in his cage. When I try to pick him up he will usually bite me( not very hard but it sure doesnt feel good) and when I do get him off his cage he just wants to go back. He is still acting the same, talking and making noises and eating and drinking just doesnt want to be held.
I have only had him for about 3 weeks but normally he wants to be with me every second.
Any ideas on what I should do? Is this just a zon trait or could it just be a stage?
Thanks

It seems to be an Amazon thing. They can be very temperamental:( Codie can be so sweet one day and the next he will bite me for no reason:(
Dont take it too personally though. I have got to know now when Codie is in a bad mood. He gets this look on his face as if to say, "Do Not" touch me unless you want a nasty bite LOL. How old is Danny?

Codie is only 18 Months old, so it cant be put down to hormones.

LOL.. He looks just like Codie.

He could be having one of his hormonal stages.

Amazons can definitely be moody! My conure might change moods every few minutes, but my zon's moods can go on for hours, or days.

If he is eating and playing he probably isn't ill or injured. Just give him his space when he's feeling grumpy.

This is where I got lucky....thankfully Cosmo doesnt have mood swings.
But yes Ive heard they definately can be moody birds especially when hormone season is upon us...

Danny is gorgeous though :th_heart:
