A few new photos of my Green Wing girl Ruby Jewel. As of yesterday she has been home for 3 weeks now. She turned 8 months old on the 15th. Last week she accepted me as part of her flock and we are becoming great friends.:th_biggrin: She readily steps up from her enclosure or play perch every time I ask her. And she loves to be cuddled & scratched, her breeder said she was super cuddly & loves to be held. She has adjusted to our home & schedule quite well. I knew from her photo the first time I saw her that she was the GW for me!:th_heart:

Ruby Jewel is a gorgeous baby girl! Thanks so much for posting her recent photos, De'Andrea :). It's wonderful that she has accepted you and now understands that she's a member of your family. It's such a beautiful feeling once the trust is gained :). There's nothing like a sweet, cuddly big Macaw who loves and trusts you :D... Congrats on her progress!!!

Thanks everyone. Yes, she talks a little. Not the big talker yet like the Catalinas were at that age. She says "Hello" & "I love you", then the rest is mostly baby babble so far. I did hear her say, "Whatever" a couple of times, one of Roscoe's favorite words.:th_hehe: She is definitely more of a baby at this age than the boys were. I can sure see why it takes much longer for GWs to wean since they stay more baby-like for so much longer & mature slower.
