For the last few weeks, Josie has been biting me whenever anyone comes bears me while holding her. This started after we got the puppy so I'm not sure if it is related to her being jealous of the puppy even though she says 'Rip mine'. All the time. She does reprimand him also. Anyway, she has also started regurgitating for me when I have her out. Tonight, she wasn't too nippy, but wanted to lay on her back in my lap and then promptly regurgitated for me. What should I do? I just put her back in her cage for now. Thank you for any thoughts you may have. Right now, as I'm typing, she is pulling out every cute trick or voice she can think of to get me to bring her back out to play.

The best thing to due with the regurging is to ignore it so it does not become a consistent behavior or a very underisable one that you cannot truly accept and it will frustrate her that you cannot become this type of love for her. The biting sounds like it may be territorial over you like she is saying ima bite you because I need to warn you about those people next to you, the best thing to do with this is socialize her to approve of other people and enjoy the company of others:). With the regurging just ignore it as she does it and give her attention when she isnt doing it she will eventually stop as she sees it is not getting her anywhere fast;).. This is the advice I'll give for now see what else everyone has to say.

I just accept the regurgitation. I don't try to encourage it, and I don't make a big deal out of it, but I don't get upset about it either.
Both the regurg and biting are due to her courting you though. When she bites others she is trying to run them off. If she bites you instead it is because she's trying to get you to "fly away" from perceived threats or rivals.
This is normal adult parrot behavior though and IMO needs to be accepted and worked around. Your other family members need to accept that you are the chosen mate, and they shouldn't try to pick her up when she's on you, nor should they approach you when she's on you to limit bites. They may have to handle her when you are in another room.
This is a good article to read:

I have been having issues with regurgitating with Savannah for a few weeks now. She is getting better as I walk away when she does it. The article Audrey posted was extremely helpful. Thanks for the link!

My TAG has been trying to regurgitate for me for 12 years. When he starts I just put him down until he stops and then pick him back up. I all ways say "Sorry I am not that kind of girl." :D He has gotten to the point of just getting his head going and then stops and looks at me Like "yes" and I just say "no". LOL Then he bites me and we can get on with our day.

Redirect! That is what I do when any of my birds do something undesirable. Don't put yourself in the position to get bitten, and you won't. Learn your birds signals and body language to avoid being bitten.

Just a side note....it is breeding season right now for many of our feathered friends so being patient with undesirable behaviour is important. I have quite a few things going on with my flock this time of year too.

Someone is always in breeding season in my house, lol! Right as Merlin is ending her hormonal spree, Rowdy is entering hers. I think the amazon boy is always hormonal!

Mina is a hormonal mess right now. She started regurgitating for the first time. The first time the did it I thought she was choking lol. Then her fruit came up. So I was ready the second time. She has also gotten in some really good bites lately. My AV said decrease sunlight hours. Decrease soft food by25% no kisses or petting on the back. Well I don't pet on her back and well she can stick it I'm kissing my bird 😘.

If I could get a hold of Mother Nature. The nice one from the butter commercial. I would say. OK ENOUGH. Of spring we all get it it's nice rain flowers all that. Bring on summer. I'm tired of my bird being a Horney bitchy bitey mess!!! Let's hope this ends soon. I ordered more chamomile drops. :chill-pill: hopefully that helps us get through a little bit. Lol.
