Cockatiel companion

I want to get a second bird but theres no cockatiels near me, so id like to get another bird. What birds get along with cockatiels?

I don’t have a lot of experience with cockatiels, but I would look at getting a similar sized bird. As well, be prepared that you may have to let them out separately because there is no guarantee they will get along.
Do you have a male or female?
