So I feed chop in the morning, pellets are always in the dish, and dinner is more chop or if my dinner is bird friendly I offer that.

Tonight was Green chili and cheese tamales with brown rice and beans.

What fun stuff is in your birds dishes?

Nothing stresses me more than their diet!!
We like the pea soup from White Wings, Asian medley, sometime some bird street bistro. I buy the cook foods. They dont like my cooking :(.
We also have chop, and the occasional scrambled egg is a real treat. Fruit occasionally.
We feed bountiful harvest as their cage mix. We do feed pellets but they end up on the floor of the cage most of the time. Zupreem, roudybush ect.....

My guys diet is so varied, everyday is different.

This morning they got steamed carrots, brocolli and cauliflower, I put some Spring Mix through the fod processer as well as red, yellow and orange pepper oh and a haberano pepper. Then I toasted a piece of silver hills sprouted 16 grain brain and spread some organic coconut oil on it and topped it all off with some herb salad.

I just gave them each a chunk of apple for a snack and in about 20 mins they will get their pellets. They'll snack on things all day, some nuts, some nutriberries, whatever I decide to give them, then I will cook them something for supper, I dont know what yet. maybe some sweet potatoe with some veggies and quinoa....I also cook their quinoa in organic carrot juice. Oh they'll also share a corn on the cob since were having corn on the cob and bbq'd steak for supper, then fresh pellets and a bit of seed mix will be waiting in their cages for bedtime.

It can vary a bit by bird as Pete has a more limited diet due to his fatty liver.

Merlin: pellets, original Nutriberries, a smidgen of Goldenfeast

Rowdy: pellets, any kind of Nutriberry

Pete: pellets, tropical fruit Nutriberries, walnut bits

All: lunch is usually a piece of apple and a piece of walnut. Dinner is various veggies and sometimes other stuff depending on what I'm eating: rice, spaghetti, chicken, or anything else bird healthy.

WOW! Brandy! You are the gourmet cook! Lucky parrots, indeed! I try being this way, off and on, but when there is no reception from the birds, I tend to going back to what they like and will, eat. I'll go from rice to quinoa, corn is always on the menu for Amigo, he loves this. Eggs for Sassy, Amigo will not eat egg. Walnuts, for Amigo, Sassy will not touch walnuts. Whole almonds for Sassy, Amigo will not touch almonds. Get the picture?! A variety of fruit and veggies, always. Pellets, they both get pellets but Sassy is the only one that eats them. Oatmeal, which I grind several pellets into, before cooking, they both love, thankfully!

My conures get my mix everyday for their main food, 70% Hagen pellets and 30% mysafebirdstore bountiful harvest. Then they each get two nutriberries with lunch and two with dinner. They get random fruit with lunch and dinner(berries, apple, pear, mango, banana, cantaloupe etc.). The only fresh veggies they will eat is green beans but they eat all the dried veggies in the bountiful harvest so that's where they get their veggies from.
My budgies refuse to eat anything but their ecotrition essential blend, millet, and nutriberries.

Don't worry Brandy, sounds like, (and looks like, from how healthy your birds look), you are doing a great job!
Sassy is the only one that will eat people food. She loves spaghetti, pasta salad and chicken leg bones. Granola cereal with almond milk, is one of her favorites!

Oh geez, I might be the least inspired cook here. I use different varieties of frozen veggies and steam them in the microwave. That way they get a good variety and I can give them each what they like, lol! Once in awhile i will make a birdie omelet or birdie bread.

I've been single for a very long time and have no human children, lol! And I used to work 2 jobs for 2 decades so I've never been able to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. And I admit, on days I do, I feel kind of let down afterward that usually there is no one here to eat it with me except the birds.

Well I'm no birdie martha stuart :th_ashamed3: I feed mine zupreem & roudy bush pellets (just ordered some hagen offline today too), organic seed mix, millet and nutriberries as treats and well my senegal baby seems to like kashi go lean crunch cereal. I offer strawberries, banana, fresh broccoli and steamed broccoli, corn, various veggies and some fruits. My gcc doesn't seem to eat anything fresh though :( but i keep trying. The senegal is still being weaned so sometimes I handfeed her (I got lafber's formula because that and kaytee were my only local options). Sometimes I make a mash with the formula and pellets to get her accomodated plus she has a variety bowl to choose and pick from. Still figuring out what she likes. I also mix some apple sauce up with the formula once that went alright. Both like to dunk their treats, food, themself, really anything in their water bowl and make "birdie soup" lol.

My guy's diet is mainly Harrison's Pellets. I offer fresh foods but he's being a stubborn butt conure :th_hehe: lol But he'll try some things so I try to offer those more often. Also he's very keen about eating what mom is eating lol

Let's see..my birdie buddies have nutriberries, zupreem pellets, birdie corn bread for breakfast, a simple chop for dinner, fresh fruit and veggies mixed in with all meals. Depending on what we are having, they will eat what we eat for dinner rather then the chop. I also feed them nuts.
