Hello everyone,
I just joined and looking forward to learning from all of you. I'm getting a 2.5 yo Yellow Collared Macaw this afternoon and will need guidance, since it's my first parrot. I have been reading some threads and look forward to meeting some members near me.

Okay, Rio is now in my house and i found that SHE was building a nest below you pan. So much for her being a male. I found out why the previous owners needed for her to go. The wife hated her and their teenage daughter use to spray her allot. How do i post pictures?

Wow a yellow collared Mac, how pretty! Sad that the wife hated her, I suppose thats maybe because she bonded with the husband. A nest huh, I haven't dealt with my Lady building a nest and we've had her almost 10 years.

From what im hearing from my friend. The husband bought the bird 2 years ago, without asking the Boss or family. She took a bite out of the teenage daughter and she was constantly sprayed from the girl. Rio is now at s the freedom around the house for 3-4 hours every afternoon.

Thanks to all for their kind response. Yes, im new to Parrots, but im learning from others. I made a contact , who has 9 parrots and she is texting information daily. Rio is settled in and taking food from my hand now.
