I love macaw whispering... Lucky does it very nicely :D. Of my four, both Salsa and Zaf are whisperers. They'll only do it at night when the lights are low.

Life is full of ups and downs, you just have to knuckle down and get on with it. You, Lucky and Chewie will have to look out for each other until your husband gets out. I doubt the prison system has even considered visiting rights for parrots, they never get their priorities right. :)

Wow, that sounds promising - I hope it works out :)
Welcome back! Sorry life has tossed a few rocks in your direction. I hope you can get some emotional support as well. Lucky and Chewie will manage as long as you can. If you can keep things as normal as possible you guys will pull through. We're here for you although I know it's not the same as being there, we're wishing you the best!

Ask the question, if the answer is at all negative or even vague say you want to see where it is written that birds are unacceptable.
If they still try to string you along get the media involved - newspapers and local radio love a human interest story, especially if pets are involved.
Hopefully they will just say yes in which case the media might still be interested.

Well just like real kids, they don't always understand the things we do to protect them even when we're not happy about it ourselves. Hope your feeling better and better each day, till your back 100%.

When it rains Jen, it pours. But eventually the sun shines through and sometimes even brighter than before. Take care of yourself and Lucky and Chewie.
Get better soon.

Welcome back Jen. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I had a problem with a couple of wheels on my cages and I used a hot glue gun to glue them back in. So far they are holding. Spot cleaning with vinegar and water will be fine for your cages. The birds won't die if their cage isn't spotless.
Hi Jen,
We missed you guys. Glad to know your doing okay and the boys are keeping you busy. I don't do a deep clean but once a year. I think I get the cage pretty darn clean inside with either Grape seed Extract (you can get on amazon) or my go to vinegar and water, a good soft brush and taking all the perches and dishes down for a short soak with plenty of hot water. With barely a Spring or Fall season, Summer time is my only chance to steam clean.
I find it easier to just keep up on the cleaning as much as possible throughout the week and a real good cleaning when I have the day off from work.

Yep, we use it on Casper's rope perches and on the sofa and armchairs after we haven't paid enough attention to his requests for a carry back to his cage (couldn't possibly fly there on his own) :)
