Hi all,
New member here. Was wondering if Green Cheek conures and Crimson Rosella get along?

Welcome to Precisely Parrots!
What do you mean get along? As in together in one cage? Or getting along if they are both out of their cages?

Hi and Welcome,

I also am unsure what you mean.

Any two birds can get along or not, it completely depends on their personality. Every bird is different, I have a blue quaker that loves to play with cockatiels and a green quaker that will attack them.

I would never put two birds together in one cage until you are 100% sure they will get along. Even then anything can go wrong.

Rosellas are very timid birds and do better on their own or with another they have grown up with. The slightest unexpected noise or quick movement can throw them into a frenzy. If you are thinking of two birds I would put them in their own cage and give them some supervised play time together so you know how each responds to the other.

I agree with Rosalyn. Better to keep them separate and supervise their time out together. Even birds that have grown up together can become quite irritated with each other when they go through puberty.

Yes I am, most of the day we both work and was considering a Rosella, but I will stick with another conure instead.

Even getting another conure does not guarantee they will get along. You probably should still cage them separately. They could really hurt each other if they decide they don't want to share space and you wouldn't be home to stop it.
What kind of conure are you thinking of getting?

Another option would be to skip getting another bird and invest in an extra television to leave on during the day. My birds love music and cartoons. You might be able to find a cartoon station that would keep your bird entertained while you are away.

Good idea Helena, I put the radio on for mine.

I understand what it's like having only one bird. I go back and fourth myself wondering if having another bird would be a good idea. I have even considered a list of pro's and con's. It all sound's reasonable until I end up staring at how much time I can supply to now two birds.
I ask myself do I give up the relationship I now have with her so she can have a relationship with a possible friend? Can I handle that? Am I doing her more harm than good keeping things the way they are? Is there someone who would be better for her? I decided to stop beating myself up about it as long as she is healthy and happy life will go on the way it is and I will continue to give her much love and attention as I can.
Hopefully she will be able to handle me when I retire from the working world and am at her side 24/7.

Different birds have different personalities. You should observe them for a few days. They might get along.
