I'm not sure what type of cactus this is but it blooms around twice a year. The flowers don't last more than two days, normally, then they shrivel up and fall off.

What a pretty cactus flower, so many blooms WOW. Did you plant it there or is it a naturally occuring native? At least you took a picture to hold you for the next time it blooms. The best things in life are worth waiting for

No, Alison, this cactus is not native to where we live, it is a transplant. My husband and I grew up in the desert and have an affinity with cactus. Here is a pic of another type that just opened last night, notice the bee!

Beautiful cacti both of you. Mare that second picture of the pink one is stunning. And Carole that yellow is so pretty. Yellow is my favorite flower color Though you would never know it looking at the yard.

Carole, that is a serious oddball! I've never seen one with that type of flower!
Alison, if you don't have a green thumb, cacti are the way to go!

Love cacti. I have an orchid cactus....got it from the guy I help. Has not bloomed yet.
