How awesome...he looks so happy playing with his toy. My Willy is similar with trying to get his toys to make some noise. Gotta love those birds!:th_biggrin:

Hi Jenn... Lucky is indeed a happy, fun-loving bird! It's awesome to see him having so much fun; I enjoyed viewing your vid very much :D. One thing I should warn you about, however, involves the chains hanging in Lucky's cage and their lengths. Birds, especially the more aggressively playful ones, are at risk of looping hanging cords, ropes or chains around their necks during playtime... which in some cases may result in a fatal outcome. The more a hanging mass weighs, the more dangerous it will be in this regard. Please have a look at the following sticky warning: [Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]*WARNING*-Inspect-and-monitor-your-hanging-bird-toys! I only want Lucky to stay safe and remain with you for a very long time to come :)

Thanks and ill look into the link and i will from now on remove them whilst hes not using them.... of course all playtime is supervised i deff dont want him getting hurt or caught up by any means and hes deff an aggrisve player .... on that note is it normal for him to play aggresive like that and is it ok??? He gets super crazy sometimes and hangs upside down and by one foot or the other ill have to be sneaky and try and get a video when hes super amped up its a blast to watch him being a bird .....he should be turnning 17 next year still trying to find out an exact date from his previous owner he shall have plenty more years of crazyness to come

Most of my birds will "fight" the imaginary dragon in their cage at one time or another. My Senegal and Eclectus will scream and growl at them. I wouldn't be too worried unless you see the potential for injury, then I would redirect him to a snack or another toy.

All birds play differently. That is why it is so important to monitor and get to know your bird. My lovie just sits on his toys, my IRN beats the daylights out of his, and my quaker just sits and chews. You will get to know what is right for Lucky, and at the same time what is dangerous for him.

I never use rope or chain to hang my toys longer than 2 - 3 inches. If you do need to go longer try using a 14 gauge stainless steel wire ,(make sure ends are completely closed and no sharp edges) or fill the chain with large pieces of bird safe wood. It will not get wrapped around the toes or neck.

It's always best to play it safe with these guys. I agree with Helena and Rosalyn's responses to your question. Each bird is an individual and some simply play more aggressively than others. Many a bird enjoy attacking an imagined nemesis ;)

Einstein is my older quaker. He has absolutely no use for toys. He amuses himself by holding his right foot with his beak, and then he slides it from one end of the perch to the other. Then at the end he changes and slides with his other foot. At first I thought there was something wrong with his feet, but he has done this for about 8 years. It is quite funny to watch different birds and see what they find amusing.
