Here in New Hampshire it's already getting chilly at night and the warm sunny days aren't going to last for long so Nike is spending her day perched by the front door. She loves the sun and this location doesnt actually get too hot.

She looks awesome in the second pic. I love her colouring and her head feathers when they are up. Gotta love them hawkheads!
My birds love sunning in the window as well. Is she well behaved enough to stay there?

Thanks, sometimes she stays there all day.

She's not a wanderer, she stays on whatever I perch her on.

Great pic! :thanks4sharingthumb Nike is so sweet. The sun sure helps their colors shine! I agree that it's wonderful that Nike gets to hang out all day, especially that she is such a good girl and doesn't cause any mischief.

Nike has not exhibited any of the "Amazon" behavior. In a way I kinda miss that as I enjoy watching them be inquisitive and get into a little mischief. On the other hand it's nice not to have to worry about my woodwork or where she went when I wasn't looking.

Be careful what you wish for...I have two or three little scamps that I have to keep in eyesight at all times...what a PITA. I make sure I have the phone handy and that I have used the washroom before letting them out. Gotta do a whole lot more planning with those guys.

Great photos! Are Nike's wings clipped? I sure wish I could leave our Sassy goffins out like this, she flys and will not stay in one place for long.

Nike is beautiful!. I love the colors when her feathers go up around the head. It reminds me of an Indian headpiece.

Great photos! Are Nike's wings clipped? I sure wish I could leave our Sassy goffins out like this, she flys and will not stay in one place for long.Right now she has one wing full and one wing clipped....only that way because we brought her in for a trim before a camping trip a few months ago and apparently only one wing needed it...now the other has refeathered. I'm going to let her grow out and see how she does. The prior owner said that she would stay on her cage all day only occasionally flying to her to land on her head.

Nike is not a mischievous bird but on occasion will fly off her perch only to be ready to step up as soon as she lands...it's kind of funny because if she does it when we are not near her we can here her repeating "step up" until we come to grab her. Cats and dog ignore her but all scramble out of the room upon hearing the wing flutter. We never leave her out alone except for bathroom and snack breaks.

It's funny, Rosie is similar. She will fly to the bed from her stand if I have been "ignoring" her too long. She is happy with her landing spot there, bc I am sitting there. Otherwise she flies, lands on the floor and waddle's over to me or lands on blinds and needs assistance. Same as you, I am rushing over to retrieve her. Silly girls.
