Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I have been MIA for a bit. I have had a rough couple of weeks. My mom is 78 years old. She has suffered through 2 head injuries 3 years apart in her early 70's. Basically she had bleeding on the brain from falling and hitting her head. Well the consequence of all that is starting to show it's ugly head. She is starting to see hallucinations. I own a very busy candy shop and have 2 small kids so I can not be with her everyday and I feel she needs to have someone with her more often these days. So two weeks ago we made the tough decision to have my mom move closer to my sister who is 5 hours away and who has a lot more time then I do right now. My mom and I are very close. In all my 46 years we have never been more then 10 minutes away from each other. Only for 1 year we were about an hour apart. So this will be a big change for both of us.

It's been an emotional couple of weeks and she will be moving at the end of September so I have a lot to do to get her ready. I know it is what's best but it's still going to be hard seeing her move 5 hours away. :(

But I will pop in here and there when I have time and will still be able to get the photo contest voting ready when the time comes!

So sorry to hear about your mother Blanca. This will probably be a huge adjustment for you....please take care of yourself and take the time needed to get grounded again. We look forward to you being able to join us regularly again.:th_grouphug2:

It's just a part of life for each of us. Seems the saying is somewhat true.....when it rains.....it pours. We are all busy in our lives and it is without saying, we understand that there are times when the real world just needs more attention then the cyber world we share.

Thank you for letting us know what you are dealing with, and I too will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Mom always comes first and you have to do what you and your family feels is best. I can relate to keeping a close distance with Mom as we were also 10 minutes or less apart. It surely will be an adjustment for you and your family but I pray it will be one that you all will come to terms with as it is a decision made from the heart with love.

Yes I am lucky and you are right, this will give us more years with her and give her some less lonely years, too. :)

I'm sorry mom's having to be moved so far but sounds like she'll be in good hands with sis. Thankfully, you have your sister to help. I hope your mom's happy..check in when you can :)
