Hi :). I want all my friends to know I've not abandoned you, I miss you! Still coping with the loss of Amigo and everytime I try to pop on PP..I have to turn it around and hope tomorrow gets easier.
Chip and Jellybean snuck another batch of 3 eggs in and the first one hatched on the day we lost Amigo. The other two hatched within a few days of that. I made the decision to pull the babes within the first few days and have been feeding them around the clock, the parents were being kind of funky as far as tending to them. They are now full time separated..Chip and Jellybean, that is.
I had to be out of town the first few days, so, feeding was left to Tim..he was happy to see me home taking over duties :). We quickly got educated on taking care of abandoned cockatiel babies, there is a learning curve and we thought we might lose them at every feeding. I'm happy to report..they are still alive and starting to thrive :)

Yippee....babies. It's kind of a miracle, given the timing. Happy to see you back and with babies no less. You'll have send some pics when you get a chance.
I am a firm believer that out of the darkness, a little light will shine. Maybe these babies are that little light.

Hi Mare, taking care of the babies will help you heal.
I'm happy to hear about your babies and that they are doing so well. It sounds like the decision to separate Chip and JellyBean is a good idea as well. Keep up the good work and I hope we can see how cute they are when you find the time.
Congratulations G-mom and G-dad!

Wow! Babies! Maybe Chip & Jelly Bean knew their mama needed a distraction. ;) Glad to hear you are doing OK my friend. Hugs. :)

Hi Mare
delighted to hear about the chicks, I hope they come on strong. And yes, we NEED pictures, all babies are cute Margaret tells me... although I am not too sure how naked scrawny little critters that poop a lot can be described as such. :)
Here is a teaser photo, I'll post more in the cockatiel section as my photobucket will allow :). They have definitely kept me busy, I'm feeding them every three hours now, rather than every two. The big guy hatched July 18, the day Amigo passed. He's 15 days old here. The other two came a few days later and the parents weren't feeding them, I wasn't sure they were going to make it,,they were sooo tiny and malnourished when I pulled them..my fault, I should have been more on it.
I don't count on anything but we're going to do our best to keep these guys alive.

I think they're very cute, too - "ugly" and cute can indeed overlap ;). Congrats Mare!
Thanks guys! I started a thread for them in the cockatiel section.
