Bella my toddler, turned a year old this April she is a typical Baby learning to eat. any type of soft food ends up all over her beak and face.
I took this picture the other day, while she was diving into some Blackberries...A FACE ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE

So they haven't hit the terrible two's yet. That could be an adventure. How are MM's when they hit puberty?

So they haven't hit the terrible two's yet. That could be an adventure. How are MM's when they hit puberty?Bentley was ok he's always been a perch potato, these guys are a bit shy and somewhat skittish, they haven't aggressively chased or dive-bombed me, like the Zons and larger Toos potentially get at times. They do need consistent handling to keep them settled down and approachable, Their not ruff and tumble like the Macs or other extroverted species. They are sensitive and aloof. Like to be gently approached, I let them interact on their own terms.

Those are the kinds of birds that I like. A little independence is good for me when I have as many as I do. So far....knock on wood, they have all been really good. No pluckers, no screamers.

MM's have always intrigued me, as has Ducorps, is that how you spell it?

Interesting how the too's can have such different personalities.

Casper is quite used to having his head held and his face wiped with a tissue after he has been eating soft fruit. At the moment cherries are in season.and the feathers under his beak are stained crimson. :)
Bella is cute even with a mucky face.

The first two lines of Liverpool Lullaby by Stan Kelly-Bootle seem appropriate:
Oh you are a mucky kid
Dirty as a dustbin lid

Dustbin: English English for trash can :th_wink:

I don't know, Suzanne... they look easy to love to me. In fact I think they're quite adorable :D (and beautiful!)

Yummy! Bella obviously loves her blackberries :). Our Sassy girl dyes her feathers the most with spaghetti, her fave!

Isn't that odd that yours like spaghetti, Mare. Must be the pasta? I make home made pizza weekly and the birds can't wait for the crust. Sweet potato fries is another favourite.
