Wow, I miss being on PP as much as I used to before I started working. I am still here, just not able to get on the forum as much due to work, kids, fids and life.

I am happy to post something pleasant, we took a short 4 day trip to the OBX (I am lucky to have 4 days off a week) so we went on my days off and Charlie stayed home with our neighbor. She has a blue fronted amazon so she is familiar with birds. I was very worried about leaving him since this is the first time we have gone for more than a few hours since we became Charlies flock.

Well Charlie did great! We made all of his food up ahead of time, gave her instructions, showed her where everything was and made sure that Charlie felt comfortable with her as far as taking him out of his cage, putting him on his play gym etc. When we got home Friday she said he was fine, no problems whatsoever. I am happy that we found someone that we can trust to take care of him!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer!

glad to hear! I am always terrified to leave Nash alone, so I know the feeling!

I'm glad you and Charlie are still with us, Michelle :). It's wonderful that you have access to a dependable support person to look after Charlie when you're away and that he does so well in your absence :D

Hi Michelle
glad to hear everything is going well and that you have a great carer for Charlie whilst you take a break. We went away with great trepidation the first time we left Casper at our friends. Halfway through the break we received a pic over the phone. Casper was sitting on our friend's shoulder whilst she was doing the ironing and the caption read "Busy busy busy"
Being from the UK I had to check that OBX wasn't short for obstetrics. Outer Banks looks a great place - do you have a boat?

Michelle - how awesome that you found someone for Charlie! I find that vacations away from Rosie are hugely important. It gives me time to recharge and her time to get lots of attention and treats from my mom.

Hope you guys had a blast!! Did you guys have shark issues in OBX? Jef saw there were two very large ones in HHI this weekend. I was happy that we weren't heading there this year...and then I remembered we will be in OBX in 3 weeks. Hoping they aren't hanging out there as well!
