A friend of mine had joined our new gym in town and took me on one of her guest passes. I think I might LOVE IT! I joined :). Does anyone here have membership to a gym? I did a yoga class today that separated my joints like they've never felt before today..God love 'em! If you belong to a gym, let's hear some feedback!

Margaret joined one, went twice. What a waste of money. That seems to be the norm.

When the kids were young I joined a huge gym near the house. I loved it bc they had free babysitting with a video feed. Problem is I HATE exercising. So I eventually stopped going. Lots of women from town use it more as a social experience but I couldn't see paying gym fees to socialize when I could just go get coffee and do the same. Lol

If you like the classes, it will be well worth it! Have fun!!

Thanks, Kendra! I do enjoy the classes, those are the main reason I joined :). I'm signed up for three months in advance, if I begin to slack off from going, I won't continue giving them money but for now...it's been good for me.

When I had more time I went to the gym regularly. Nothing like giving the muscles a good work out!

Have fun at the gym Mare. You'll feel so much better if you can keep at it. You should take before and after pics! Lol.

I've started running again ,up to 4 1/2 miles .It's not pretty either :) As long as your doing something though.I know I feel better. The only problem theres not time for everything for me.So it goes birds ,my family , running .For everything else (something's got to give :)) Classes are great Mare ,I would take them all.

I joined the gym long ago after my second child was born. I loved it, used it as a stress reliever. Haven't been in a long time now, probably be exhausted just going in and getting changed, never mind the exercising part.

Kendra, my three months was up middle of September. I got super busy and just haven't rejoined, yet. My daughter joined yesterday and is pushing me to get back into it which I've been thinking about anyway. It will be fun going with her :)

Rosalyn, don't push it if you've been ill..it takes time to get your energy back.

That would be fun, it's always more fun to do things with friends & loved ones. She may get you to try something you hadn't thought of. :)

You are right.

My daughter has asked me to go, but her work schedule is so erratic and my mom needs care 24/7. My mom does go to a community group on Tuesday afternoons from 1 - 3. That would be a perfect time for me to get back to it again, but as Kendra said it is more fun to do things with friends and loved ones. You never know maybe go and start lifting weights, give my son a run for his money when he comes home from school at Christmas.:th_loltears:

I've not tried the "spin" class, we were talking about that. My friend who I originally joined with says that I better buy a padded/gel seat to cover the seat that is offered at the gym..otherwise, nerve damage may ensue! Yikes!

Lol. Yes, if I remember correctly those seats are teeny tiny. Which my be why i never really liked spin. I prefer the comfy seat of my beach cruiser!
