I don't know how it looks scaled down in Signature formatYou'll likely have to resize it to no more than 650 px wide by 250 px high (i.e., whichever dimension exceeds one of those values). If you don't, the system will automatically resize the image and render it at a disappointingly low resolution :(

It's a very nice job, by the way :D

Savannah, I want to see how it looks, try it out for me please. you don't have to keep it posted I just want to see . Tony recommends this size. Copied the hawk head picture posted. I practice with that too!

It's a very nice job, by the way :D Tony Mares Signature looks bigger than Savannahs, does that means it's larger the 650 pixels wide, it appears to be about the same height.

Tony Mares Signature looks bigger than Savannahs, does that means it's larger the 650 pixels wide, it appears to be about the same height.I've just checked and it looks like you resized Savannah's image to 650px × 389px. So since the 389px height dimension is beyond the permitted 250px signature image height dimension, the system auto resized it in the signature block to 417px × 250px. Mare's signature image is within specs at 649px × 250px. So yes, Mare's image is longer (at 649 pixels wide)... while Savannah's is shorter (at only 417 pixels wide).

Ok I'll try again. can you fix it in Savannahs signature, or should I explain it to her

This one is =650 by 250 lets see how it looks...
4166

It looks stretched out. what about this=550 by 229 aspect ratio

The Pinkertons

It doesn't look right that wide, I also notice when the image is in the signature box, the resolution is somewhat blurred compared to the actual image in the posts even at different pixels.

4167Suzanne: You can't adjust both dimensions to conform to the 650 x 250 limit... because if you do it will distort the image - i.e., it will change the aspect ratio thus giving you the "stretched out" appearance. As such, you'll need to only adjust whichever single dimension is outside of the permitted ranges. On Savannah's new signature, the image was 800px × 479px ... so you should have changed the 479px height dimension to 250px, leaving the 800px width dimension to track down proportionally with the height reduction.

It doesn't look right that wide, I also notice when the image is in the signature box, the resolution is somewhat blurred compared to the actual image in the posts even at different pixels. The reason it blurs is because when the system auto resizes the image (because it exceeds the dimension limits) it also renders the reduced image at a much lower resolution. And that's why it's best to never exceed the limits of 650 x 250.

What are the aspect ratios on the one you modified for future reference

The same as your original: 1.67 Is that the one Savannah is using...I see, I just went full circle back to the beginning LOL !

Is that the one Savannah is using...I see, I just went full circle back to the beginning LOL !I had accommodated your request to replace Savannah's image with my modified one, but I'd forgotten to post back here that I did so - sorry. So unless you've changed it, the one you now see on her posts should be the one I reduced.

As for dimensions... Your original debut image was at 800 x 479. I took that one and reduced it to 418 x 250. Both sets of dimensions have an aspect ratio of 1.67.

LOL this thread is messy! and woah I didn't know you had the authority to change my sig yourself Tony! How did you do that? I am getting into coding myself, and am not very far in, but I didn't even know that was possible LOL

BTW I love the signature size and all! The grungy look like you said really fits me!

LOL this thread is messy! The Signatures subforum is kind of a testing/workshop/troubleshooting area. So I think a certain degree of messiness should be acceptable here, Savannah ;)

and woah I didn't know you had the authority to change my sig yourself Tony! How did you do that? I am getting into coding myself, and am not very far in, but I didn't even know that was possible LOLDo you mean the ethical authority or the administrative authority? I obviously have the latter since I am the website owner and the sole administrator here. The former, however, will always amount to a judgment call on my part. I didn't think you would mind because I was trying to make your new signature image look as impressive as possible for you :)

BTW I love the signature size and all! The grungy look like you said really fits me!Glad to hear it... Suzanne did a wonderful job indeed!

ah I meant the latter as well.. No problem if you change anything around on my profile, I trust you! I just have never worked with a domain like this one, and I'm not very good at coding as it is so I didn't know it was physically possible to change a members signature if you are the admin. good to know though!

Savannah ...I'm so obsessive about doing things right . please forgive me ... but I want to present Nash in the best format. I have a tendency to be O.C.D. ... I thank you for allowing me to practice with Nash . I want Nash to look the best he can be !
