Getting to know the locals

[Casper's 2nd best friend]

Some decent weather here this week (between thunderstorms) and Casper has been chillin' in the Magnolia tree. He has had some locals drop in on him, landing on his branch, first a young wood pigeon landed within a couple of feet, then realised the branch was already occupied so took off again, and then a blackbird landed right next to Casper which rather surprised him. Bluetits have been flitting about in the tree but not getting too close

How nice he gets to have visitors so close while enjoying his time outside. Maybe you could hang some millet here and there to attract the visitors next time you and Casper are out.

Birds are pretty AWESOME! That's nice that the locals didn't try and be all territorial with Casper :). When I first started getting Amigo out there, he actually made a girlfriend/crush with a young raven. She would come perch by him most mornings, in the pine tree near our home. She would "gluck, gluck" to him..he eventually tried to imitate it back..that's when she dumped him :(
