Hi! I was recently referred here by Cedardave. My name is Janelle and I'm from middle-of-nowhere (or enough so that I have to do most of my bird shopping online) Manitoba, Canada .
I currently have Tulio, a 15 year old Congo African Grey (although we aren't entirely certain as to his exact age as he was a rescue and had a rather rough go before we got him); Zuri, a 4 year old pineapple green cheek conure and Ezio & Nigella who are a couple of boisterous budgies that technically belong to my daughter. We are also seriously considering adding an Alexandrine to our small flock. If you happen to be owned by one, I would especially love to hear from you!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and learning all that I can!

Hi Janelle... Welcome and thanks for joining us. Tulio, Zuri, and Ezio & Nigella sound to be an impressive feathered crew :D. We do have several members here with Alexandrines; however I don't believe I've seen any of them active for a while. But you never know who may pop in :)

By the way, I love your composite signature image!

Hi, Janelle! Welcome! You have a lovely flock :). I've only seen YouTube videos of Alexandrines and looks like they can be great talkers and obvious characters!

Thank you all for the warm welcome...and the nice comments regarding my signature. Zuri is the most frustrating bird to photograph since she never stops moving that I tend to overshare when I manage to get a few decent shots. :)

No longer "considering" on the Alexandrine. I just put my deposit down, with the new addition set to arrive in the next couple of weeks. :) I may be just a little bit excited - and a lot nervous. Now to find info on how to help this guy adjust, our previous birds all came to us as adults...

Or by the I time get my phone the moment has passed:( The new member of your flock sound exciting, looking forward to hearing all about it!

If you have a proper camera, set it to shutter priority and a shutter speed of 1/500th or 1/1000th of a second. Turn off the flash, not good for birdy eyes or nerves.
I hope I am not "teaching my granny to suck eggs" as your signature pics look very competent :)
