Do you have birds that patrol their territory? My 'tiels are always on guard when we enter their room, they are free to roam so I suppose this gives them the right. When we have Sassy out of her cage, she determines the mood in the room, for sure!

Love that pic!

Rosie doesn't patrol, but she does scream when Jef comes into the room. It works....sometimes. Either Jef leaves or she goes upstairs for some time to calm down.

I love that pic too, what a view!
Casper's territory is basically the ground floor of the house. We have only once found him upstairs on his own and we presumed he climbed up the stairs as he doesn't fly much and there is a 180 degree turn half way up. Perhaps that is why he hasn't done it again - too exhausting.
Today we were all upstairs watching a big old dog fox sitting in the field opposite us, keeping all the bunnies on their guard.

Kendra, has Jef ever tried to ride it out? Has he ever just plugged his ears and sat there till Rosie quit? Could be a curious experiment :). She WILL eventually quit. Please ask Jef to try this for science's sake and let us know the results :)

No, he just leaves. I think her screaming hurts his ears. I have seen him covering his ears when I remove her during a screaming session. Ashley will cry if she is in the room bc it hurts her ears. I think they are more sensitive. I have lost significant hearing from Rosie. My ears aren't super sensitive though so it usually doesn't cause me pain when she screams.

I'm pretty sure we were typing at the same time. Help me out here..call all the fam into the room,,or just Jef..hand out ear plugs and sit till Rosie's done yelling about her territory, who's mainly you..does it get better after some time?..

You are SOO fortunate that she doesn't attack intruders with more than her voice!

I will ask, but I have a funny feeling they will tell me to get lost. Will let you know what happens.

Yes, I am lucky, she generally just uses her huge voice. As a rule, Rosie likes pretty much everyone. Jef is an exception bc he is her competition in her mind. The only time she gets a bit physical is if a person is dumb enough to try to handle her without me (lunge/bluff) or if she is on me and people get too close. She will lunge if she is on me and anyone comes in for a hug/kiss. What it means depends on the person. With my kids or mom it's her trying to get a kiss before they pull back. Anyone else is step away from my Mommy, she is MINE!! This is usually followed by her jamming her tongue in my ear while giving the person the evil eye. Lol. :)
