So I got a job offer yesterday. I am very excited because for the last 10 years I have been a Stay At Home Mom, which I have loved being able to be at home with my kids but my youngest will be starting kindergarten in the fall and it was my plan to go back to work when he started to school.

This job is perfect because it works well with my husbands schedule and one of us will always be able to be home to get the kids from school, take them to activities etc. It is also a good job for me because I will be able to help families when they need it and I want to be in a career where I will be helping families or individuals.

Anyhow my concern is for Charlie. I am not stressing too much because like I said one of us will always be home, but I will be working 3 days a week and my husband does not quite do things the way I do. I am concerned the Charlie is going to get stressed. My husband loves Charlie and Charlie loves my husband but I am just worried. Probably just my nervous nelly always have to be in control attitude.

Hopefully Charlie will like the variety of having different servants to boss around. Casper tends to sleep a lot when Margaret isn't here.

That is probably true, the funny thing is we are all wrapped around Charlies feet, the 5 year old used to be the boss of the house, but when we brought Charlie home that all changed. My 5 year old loves him and that is the first thing he does when he comes downstairs in the morning is go over to Charlies cage and says good morning to him. I thought the novelty would wear off after a couple of weeks with my kids and Charlie but if anything they have become good friends.

Charlie tends to be more of a goofball with my husband, they are a perfect match

They do tend to pick up on our energy, Bentley and Bella, interact completely different with my husband. When he is present Bella goes running as fast as she can, tripping over her feet, and literally leaps to him from about 2 feet off the kitchen table, onto his chest cooing and making kissing sounds nibbling his ears and neck. With me they run in the opposite direction,. Thank goodness my bird's are easy going ,no Kamikaze attacks. :th_wink:

I am happy for you. Nothing like bringing home a second pay check. Three days per week is perfect for you and your family. If you have concerns about your husband taking care of Charlie on those days I suggest you write out an instruction sheet for him to follow if he needs one. When do you begin the new job?

I go tomorrow to sign paperwork and get my photo for my ID badge. My official start date is May 9th for orientation. I am excited.

Three days a week is perfect! Congrats! The fact that you'll have your husband there, when you aren't, makes it even more so and because Charlie LIKES him..even better!! :)

I work full time and my hubby works part time. I'm beginning to think my Lady is enjoying his company more and more so I am very happy with this as it relieves me of finding all the answers and gain insight to what he thinks she is about.
Congrats on the new job it's wonderful that you will be out helping families and individuals as well. We all will benefit from the work you will be doing!

Thank you Kendra and Suzanne, after having been through it with loved ones I feel like I could be of service to people when they need it most. I am sure that it will be stressful and that I am going to have moments but I think I will find it rewarding in it's unique way.

So Michelle,
How are things working out with the new job arrangements? How is Charlie reacting? What does your hubby say about tending to Charlie? Altho things haven't changed job wise for us my husband has taken on more time with Lady. I like hearing him tell me how his relationship is with her, as well as what is becoming their routine.

Wow, congratulations, what a wonderful thing to be doing! I'm sure that Charlie will be just fantastic, without a little stress, there wouldn't be growth. He'll be stronger and more confident because of it.

Things are going better than I expected. Charlie is becoming used to the routine, we had house guest my first week of my new job, but he was OK with that. He definitely has become vocal about me being home and him not being the center of my attention, but I am not giving into the screaming and letting him realize when he calms down that is when I will take him out of the cage.

He and my husband get along great and I think he actually enjoys the "guy" time with my husband. All in all things are going well. Thank you to everyone for the kind words and support!
