Hi, I am Jennifer and I've been a parrot addict/slave for 10 years. :)

I started with Pogo, a 4 month old male Timneh African Grey parrot, who I had for 8 years. He was my best little buddy and was a part of everything going on.
463
After losing him, I got Quack, a 10 year old female Timneh rehome, now 12. We had some trials for the first few months with her grinding bites through my skin. When I finally stopped picking her up with my hands (I do occasionally rescue her), things got better and now she is in love with me and regurgitates all the time. She is really a sweet bird.
464
Then I got Darwin, a 13 year old male Timneh rescue as a companion for Quack. He will be 15 in June. He is a goofball but such a sweetheart. He is Pogo's brother.
465
I birdsat Itsy, 6 year old female Meyer's parrot (going on 7), for the rescue where I got Darwin from and ended up keeping her as she is so sweet and easy to care for.
466
And then came Tiki, a female Blue-headed pionus rescue, approximately 10 years old (now 11ish). When searching for a companion for Quack I had it narrowed down to a female bhp or maxi pi but couldn't find one except bhp's from breeders. Then Tiki showed up on Kijiji from a rescue with no tail or flight feathers. They thought she was pinioned, but turned out not to be. She may never grow a tail or flight feathers though although right now she has lots of pin feathers coming in and I think a new red feather on her butt so maybe she will grow something this spring! I've just had her since last June so almost a year now.

Somehow I missed your welcome thread, sorry!

I hadn't realized Darwin was Pogo's brother. I'm really glad you were able to adopt him (and the others of course!)
