Okay, I'm still working on expanding this gang's horizons on the veggie front.
I know this. They are not a fan of green beans. However, I, being southern and loving to cook, love to cook dried pinto or white beans all day, add a little salsa, and crumble up cornbread in it and call it a meal. This bunch loves some plain old southern cornbread with a touch of honey added. I make it and keep it on hand to crumble over their food sometimes.
Any beans your birds really seem to like more than others? I discussed red beans and rice with the Sun conure last night, she looked intrigued, but wondering if my Andouille sausage might heat it up too much.
Why the bean obsession? My husband hates beans of all kinds. It's just me and him - I can justify cooking up a pot to myself if the birds might help me eat it!
