To be honest this was my first parrot forum! I joined a few months after I got Nash if I believe correctly and I have LOVED every second.. I have learned so much and hopefully shared that information along the way too! I care so much about parrots and other parrot owners it's crazy, I never thought I would be so involved!

Like we've discussed before, I feel PP is better than any other avian forum! I don't know what about it makes it so welcoming and amazing, but I just look forward to logging on every night because I get to see all of your stories! I feel very close to all of the members as well, it's kinda a small group, but I know all of you guys and all of your birds so that's pretty cool lol!

I knew Tony and some of the other founding members from another forum. I followed bc Tony and Salsa helped me so much when I first brought Rosie home.

I stayed bc I have made some wonderful connections with some awesome people. I love the people here. Some have moved on over the years and I hope they come back one day. Some pop in here and there and then we have people joining who are just as wonderful.

It's great to share my crazy journey with Rosie with all of you. Love reading all about all of your adventures. So happy to be here.

This forum seems like an extended family to me. This thread is a grand idea. I love all the frequent posters and the way ideas are shared. We have no grandstanders like other forums. I have said this for a few years now, PP is a fun place to be.

I love the positive energy on this forum and the way that new members are welcomed. I have to agree with Dianne and Savannah, it is like an extended family and I look forward to checking in throughout the day and finding out what is going on.

I LOVE that I can log on and post a question about Charlie, or post something new that he has learned or that I have learned and almost instantly get feedback or support.

I am so happy I found this forum, I googled parrot forums and looked at a couple but the looked like newspaper print with a lot of adds. PP looked inviting and after reading a few post I was hooked!

I joined because this forum is friendly and welcoming. My views on providing optimal care for parrots are similar to what this forum is about. The number of members here make it very approachable to post, discuss, agree and disagree. One or two of the other forums that I lurk on are too cliquey (sp?) which I have seen can almost lead to a mob mentality. It shuts down dialogue which in turn leads to less sharing for some members who really could use unbiased, neutral support. Ihaven't seen that here. There is a strong feeling of respect for opinions here, even if it is disagreed with. I am happy to be here, even if I don't post often.

I found my way here while trying to deal with a U2 who seemed determined to kill me, literally. Unfortunately, I did my research AFTER I brought him home, and we both paid the price. But the amazing thing about this group is that not one single person judged me when I decided I just couldn't do it anymore. Giving up on him was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. The forum members here really helped me through it, even when I found out that my "radar" wasn't working properly and I let a bird flipper have him, which literally made me ill. No one made me feel as if any of it was my fault, even though I will always feel like it was. Everyone just understood.

I've moderated several forums, never seen one quite like this one! And believe me, that's a compliment.

And, now, here I sit with 9 birds (I had to count) and I certainly need all the support I can get! I may not post every day, but I try to at least check in.

Other things I like about this forum:
A good balance of the sexes, on other bird forums I have found there to be just one other man,
excellent moderation,
great sense of humour and humor (spelt both ways so that it covers both sides of the Atlantic and Australia)
