How is it that that line makes so much sense without saying much specifically?

I guess it's something in the way that a parrot is a strange, beautiful, elegant and exotic creature... that happens to also be a tornado of poop and food bits and mussed-up hairdos and holes in clothes!

The kind of creature high society holds in great esteem... but keep it over there away from the silks, dear lord.
