Wow spiritbird what an encouraging story. I enjoyed the short video showing her using her new beak to eat for the first time.

Is that how a beak normally looks? It looks too short and hooked rather than long and curved and handy for hanging around on. Until I am told otherwise I will assume that it is deliberately short because a longer beak would have put too much strain on the mounting points. After all, they must know what a proper beak looks like. :)

I noticed that too, Their was a Galah that was born with a beak deformity they use acrylics that are formulated for nails.

They only had so much remaining upper beak material to work with and I'm sure factored in the strain that the fasteners would be able to support.
