One of my twin daughters lives in a paradise called Aspen Woods. Yes, in Colorado. The other day she was taking in some sunshine on the patio and took some photos of Mt. Sopris as the sun was going down. She is second in photography only to Art Wolfe in the way she catches the light. Here is one of that series:

I can just imagine the real estate adverts: property with extensive acreage, failing to mention that most of it is near vertical. :)

Did you ski? One of the things I remember about visiting my daughter is the silence that nature offers a person there. Our world is so noisy at times it hurts. When there in her world all you hear and the natural sounds like the birds and flow of the rivers. Altitude sickness can get your for a while but small price to pay for such beauty. My daughter is on factbook showing one the 9 photos she took in this series.

Off the south coast of England on a perfectly calm day you can hear the "land-roar" as it is called even a couple of miles from the coast. The noise of all the traffic just carries across the water.:(
Usually our brains filter out the noise so you only hear it when it is not expected.
