At what age did you first notice indications that your bird has hormones stirring? I am curious because I think it differs from species to species . For my two Linnies it was about 8 months of age. Now they are both over a year and hormonal behaviors seem to come and go. Tango the female solicits food from Kobi and they both groom each other all over.
Not much mating going on because I have not given them the nest box.
Amigo came to us when he was eight and from what I've researched, that's the "magic" age for U2's. Sassy was being given up for adoption at the age of seven and this is when I met her..hmm, I'm beginning to wonder if this a pattern for when people give up on their cockatoos..not sure, I just now had that thought. I've never had one from a baby so I'm not sure if they change earlier.
Chip was also adopted and only he knows how old he is and Jellybean was my only youngish one. She's less than a year and already in nesting mode. Chip has become her defender, no one is allowed too close to her.

Rosie is too young yet. I believe hormones won't hit until she is 7 or 8.
