Because you can never have enough conures!

Sookie just turned 1 year old. She was hand raised from 2 weeks of age, one owner. They did an excellent job with her, already on pellet, veggies and fruite. She is absolutely a sweetheart. (She's still got that baby face!) She's had free flight her entire life, so we got her wings clipped this morning just so we could have more hands on contact with her. They did the light clip on her, she can fly, just not as far and not as fast!

I am in love with her. She's still being a little shy - but that's understandable since she was with the same person since the age of 2 weeks. She was rehomed because they had a glass enclosed aviary room set up in the house and it was an older house and the room started leaking really bad. The lady had several birds and rather than move them into the main house, she decided to rehome them.

Thank you for the compliments! She's a sweet girl. As far as smaller parrots go, I think the sun conure is one of the most beautiful. (Although I have been known to google ringneck images now and then! LOL)

Thanks, everyone! I love the sun conures, always thought they were one of the prettiest of the conures.

She is still playing a little hard to get. The lady who had her had a sunroom and all of the birds were in there. Cage doors were open all day and they had free roam of the room, we can't let her do that here because of the dogs, but we do crate them for a few hours and let her out, she just doesn't want much human contact yet. I know she was very tame and very bonded with the lady who had her, but I'm not sure she had as much human interaction as she has here. I think she had the company of the other birds and a beautiful room to fly around in, and her human was in and out to feed them and visit for short periods of time. Now she's got this crazy human family and a whole new flock to deal with, plus two very curious little dogs.
