Thought it would be fun to see whose the easy bird in your house and whose the bugger [and maybe why] . Sometimes its not the species you think . I have so many Im going to list 2 Angels and 2 Devils. Harlow [or Harla my macaw] is a sweet, sweet bird .I dont think I could top her. Charlotte the Hawkhead is an easy [almost affectionate like a 2] girl. The Devils Tequila [my blue frnt zon ] but I wouldnt have him any other way {too smart]:th_biggrin: . Last Gingee my Sunconure [Holy Cow] If you can master them [I think your trained and ready ] for any other bird . LOL:th_hehe:

I believe the easiest bird in my house for me is a toss up between my blue throated macaw, Lars and my harlequin macaw baby girl they are both so easy for me and affectionate and willing. I'd also add boo and probably romeo and pickles to the list of the easiest. The ones that are medium but not yet devils are probably max and Molly the two eclectus they just love to wander and roam and nest lol! So you gotta watch them, koko the mini macaw is just full of Alittle bit of everything and hyper that's all, the two blue and golds Billie and tucker are good but have there little quirks in the home that can be tiresome like Billie likes to scream for food as she wants to be the first to be fed at night-.-... My most devilish two are the greenwing he is in sexual maturity and just slightly full of himself, Alittle unpredictable and so on but getting better, and then the m2 is just very excitable and can be very loud and if he is hormonal you need to watch him he gets over stimulated easy and it turns into aggression like most cockatoos. O and my double yellow headed amazon is a huge issue as he is very aggresive to everyone but me unless he is out at a show then he is a different bird... Babe loves to be an issue and it's been a long time but he is settling down with a lot of work. Then not really a devil but our red bellied parrot has major phobia issues that she is just now overcoming:)!
The others not listed are all easy going and so on and very manageable. The other thing is many of my birds are very well behaved out at educational outreaches like the amazon for example or even the m2 is so calm and respectable it is just when they are in there element and not n show mode:p.
When it's show time I walk out and say who wants to come and the ones that respond in many ways, ether vocally or physically come along unless of course all of them decide it is there day then I have to pick and choose can't talk all of them:p. at once at least;).

Behavior wise I'm going to have to say Merlin is the sweetest, but I'm not sure she's the easiest (she is blind and requires I do a lot of things for her because of it).
I suppose my problem child is Rowdy. She gets into the most, is the bossiest and has even been known to cuss at me, lol!

Sassy can be an angel and normally is but she can also swing her mood in the blink of an eye, then,,look out! She would have to win the Angel award if compared to Amigo, though. Amigo has done some pretty terrible things to other people and he's been called the Devil's spawn, more than once! I'm the only person who knows he can be an angel. :)

My devils are the Green cheeks! They are so bad and so cute at the same time! But they definitely give me lots of gray hairs!!
My Angel is my BH Pionus who is very appropriately named Angel:th_heart: She never causes any trouble, is quiet, sweet, and just an all around perfect parrot.
Sampson my linnie is in between, he is sweet as pie with me but likes to start squabbles with the other birds if they get in his space! And Smooches is pretty Angelic so far, he just minds his own business and hangs with Sampson.
So in conclusion my problem birds are Conures!!! What are the odds?! :th_LOL:

I swear when I was doing research on larger parrots, oh 14-15 years ago, that I kept reading that conures were a "good step up from budgies or cockatiels" :ROFLMAODog:
That's not been true for me, nor many others, lol! I guess though I've learned more about parrot behavior from Rowdy than any other bird I've had :)

Although I am blessed with a very mild mannered blue crowned, conures are not a good step at All lol! I have met so many like you both describe, a lady asked me if I'd be honored to take her two maroon bellied conures when she passes if they are still around, I cringed and said yes lol. Very nice stories everyone and come on Carole we know better then that;) peco was a angry toucan the other day.

O I love and adore conures but they are a force to be reckoned with sometimes;), the two maroon bellied are great and there is a Patagonian in the mix as well, but they are not so conure like IMO... Yes I will need a big bird room and a big aviary when I have my own house I hope to do a flighted one honestly! I currently only have 5 that are truly willed to me others are just people saying that, unless it is written down its not true:/.. I won't go higher then what I can manage at one time and to think in my young age I want to still raise a baby... When will I get the chance lol!

Danny, Like a retriever puppy with no manners, all beak and will not be silent. In the morning I found out the best way to do anything with out hearing "HELLO BABY" at the top of his zon lungs is to feed him his small amount of seeds on the play stand. RLA

Well, I only have Codie. He has 2 personalities. One day, he can be all sweetness and light and another day he can turn into a Lion seeking prey :th_LOL:
In this pic, he is in one of his semi sweet moods:)

O I beg to differ I have met some very very troubled blue crowned that are worse then some nandays and suns IMO, i know a lady that all she does is blue crowned she has like seven and she has some very bad blue crowneds, screaming, nipping like most conures and so on. This all can be worked out of then I believe, but they are still conures very much:p, although most are fare.y decent.

Mine was a sweet little angel, and so are the others I've read about. I'm sure there are some though that are more conure like. They just seem more thoughtful and less reactive.

Yes I have met many that are great and it seems to be a trend, but I have also met some very explosive ones that are just... Bad and took a lot of work, I worked with a few now that we're slightly off the walls, but then I have spent time we others and they are so sweet just like my nana. They also seem not to be as vocal, but again they have proved me wrong:)

I would definitely say Quincy is my little Devil. He can act like a little sweet angel then nip me two seconds later! Savannah is my Angel so far. I'm sure she has a devilish side, but for the most part she is a sweetheart! I guess all birds have an angel and a little devil inside. It just depends which is more dominant at the time! LOL! :th_biggrin:
