Little Lucy is really coming into her personality. She's 6 weeks old, and I have a feeling within a few weeks, she'll be ruling the roost around here.
These were made just after feeding time - when she's done she jumps up on my hand to let me know, with banana baby food mixed in with her formula for the first time. She was quite excited about that.

"Are my feathers a mess, Mom?" (They are always a mess, but I don't want to hurt her feelings.)

She is a cutie!!!
LOL, she looks very content. Banana is what human babies get for their first taste of something other than formula or breast milk, is this why you chose it or is there another reason? I have never had a baby bird, so I'm just curious.

My older birds love bananas, so I thought I couldn't go wrong! I am big on feeding them veggies and fruit. I have her eating finely chopped broccoli florets, but she doesn't seem interested in the fruit yet. I also bought sweet potato, pear and green been baby food. I'm just adding a tiny amount to her formula, but trying one at a time initially to see if I stumble across something she doesn't like.

Really cute. My Nike doesn't care much for banana, my previous Amazon loved them.

She is just so precious. I just wanna tickle her so much. By the way the broccoli leaves have most of the nutrients but often they are wilted.
Little Lucy is adorable! How long will she be on formula?

Mare, I am hoping to wean her in another week or so. She is eating millet and a bit of seed, she's just so rotten about the goodies I mix in with her formula. She is growing up so fast, her coordination has improved so much in the past week or so. She can sleep on a perch without falling off or winding up upside down! We've spoiled her, I'm afraid. Her nursery has stuffed baby bunnies and lambs to snuggle with, and she will cuddle up in the middle of them to sleep. She is absolutely precious. It's so rewarding to get to hand feed them and watch them grow and change right before your eyes. These days, she's more concerned with cuddling with her humans than feedings, so we're getting close to weaning.
Her nursery cage is right next to the cage for the older conures, and we're getting a larger cage that will hold all of them by the time she is weaned.
I have absolutely fallen in love with the conures! I'm a little obsessed. Now if I could just get my hands on a turquoise one I would be very happy.
Sounds amazing! :). I can imagine hand feeding and bringing up a young one can be so rewarding! I see a Turquoise in your future :)

Yes, a turquoise is definitely in the near future. The closest ones I have found are in Texas. I keep yelling "Road trip!" but my husband is ignoring me, so far. (We live in Kentucky, he's pretty indulgent for a 2-3 hour bird run.)
Lucy is becoming so independent, it's kind of sad. She doesn't do the "feed me NOW" call every time she hears my voice, but she will still take a wild uninhibited leap into my hand every time she gets a chance. Her colors are coming in beautifully. She's going to have a mostly red tummy, fading to orange and then yellow at the breast. Her tail feathers are a darker burgundy red, and her wings are green and blue, with the yellow underneath. I started out with this little green and yellow fuzz ball, and it's been so neat to see her new coloring coming in day by day.
