I swear I should change his name to Gomer! This morning, I walked down to feed our old guys their grain, (33yr. old horses) and turn around to find 15 wild turkeys behind me! (I counted) :). I did not have my camera but will get a photo up, soon..they love the grain droppings from the horse's mouths :)

Anyways, they've been hanging around the property and Amigo has been on a trip with them all day! Lots of yelling coming down and I caught him here, on the ground, protecting..I'm not sure what,,his territory, maybe..?..

Wonder what the turkeys are saying to get him all riled up?

Gobble, gobble! Them just being in his territory is a no, no, to him :). He would never get close to them but he does like to posture.

I love to watch turkeys and hear their calls. Had lots of them when I lived in Wisconsin. Can you ask Amigo what he was doing? Did they have baby Turkey's with them?

Dianne, it's too early for the babies. Today is the first time I've seen these guys since last year and there were two males, demonstrating their glorious tail feathers, the rest of their harem look like youngish females but definitely grown.

Tim is in Baja right now and will be back in about a week. He has our turkey chaser dog with him. Amigo and I will enjoy this bunch while it lasts :)

Amigo looks super determined. GET OUT DOPEY TURKEYS!!! Love that guy!

Must be cool to have them visit though. Do they do any damage? Other than annoying Amigo that is. :)

Kendra, turkeys are super rough on our gardens :(. They will pick every leaf off a tomato plant when you aren't looking, they dig and they move onto our downstairs patio to get the afternoon shade and I guess it's cooler on the adobe bricks plus we keep a large water bowl down there for the dogs and cats...and turkeys :). They are dirty poopers on this patio, though and I really don't like that!
