Hello My name is Michelle and my husband, 2 sons and I just got a 3 month old lesser sulpher crested cockatoo names Charlie. We are already so in love with him. I am so glad that I found this group so I can learn more and ask questions. I read Birds for Dumbies and also a book on Cockatoos before we got Charlie but am open to any other suggestions that will help our new family member. Thanks in advance!

Welcome Michelle. What town are you near? I live in Maryland also. We do have other members with Cockatoos. I do know it's very easy to spoil them with too many cuddles. They need to learn some independence.

Hi, Michelle! Welcome! :). Wow! Three months is way young, isn't it? Are you still hand feeding? I've never taken on a baby bird, my U2 and G2 were older when I took them in. Cockatoos are a special breed, indeed..in more ways than one :)

Yes, I am still hand feeding him, twice a day. He is doing great! I am trying to figure out a way to upload recent pictures of him. My profile picture is him about a month ago. He is absolutely gorgeous (but I am a little biased.) My boys look forward to coming home from school and spending time with him.

I am glad I am here, it is nice to be among fellow bird people!
